Ensure Student Safety & Campus Security
Creating a secure environment for students extends beyond the school grounds, encompassing their journey from home to school and back. Ensuring student safety involves protecting them from various risks, including abuse, violence, psychological issues, natural and man-made disasters, fires, and transportation hazards. Emotional safety is particularly crucial, as it can be challenging for teachers and parents to identify emotional difficulties in children. Bullying, for example, can significantly impact a student's self-esteem and daily well-being.
According to the latest guidelines issued in September 2017, any failure to uphold student safety and well-being within school campuses can lead to the school's disaffiliation.
Addressing safety and security in schools is a multifaceted issue that affects not only students but also teachers, parents, and school administration. While it is a collective responsibility, schools must consistently remind all stakeholders of their role in maintaining a safe environment. Given that students spend a significant amount of time at school, it is imperative for everyone involved to ensure their security both within the school and during their daily commutes.
